Date with Grandma

This Christmas, my grandmother and I went to a cooking lesson at The Cooking Store in Mission Grove. It has now become a tradition that the Christmas present we share is not just an item to wear or put on a shelf but an experience together. Last Christmas I took her to tea - which has now become the most talked about tea venue in her "little old lady" small group. ;-) So, I wanted to find something just as unique and memorable for us to do together this year. The Cooking Store is packed with kitchen and baking necessities, but in the back they have created a kitchen to demonstrate and teach guests how to cook specific things. They have lots of great classes to choose from. I took my grandma to an appetizer night on December 30. We left with full tummies and 6 delicious recipes to try on our own. We had a great time! Merry Christmas Grandma - I love you!!

Favorite Christmas Pics Part 2

CHRISTMAS DAY

Favorite Christmas Pics part 1

A friend once said that when you love on my children you love on me. That is so true! My children were loved on dearly- through the gift-giving, sharing of laughter, and family festivities. Christmas is no longer about what I got for Christmas ... and that is okay! I want my children to experience the best Christmas' ever and most importantly know we celebrate and give honor to our Savior at Christmas.
This Christmas was Cassidy's first and it was a joy to see her interact with gift wrapping for the first time. Cassidy spent most of her time on top of presents - I think she liked the "climbing" aspect. ;-)

Cookie decorating with friends

A couple of days before Christmas Carson invited some of his friends to come over and bake Christmas cookies. It was messy and yummy and the kids each took home about 8 cookies for Santa. Carson really got into each step and while my eye was behind the camera he went crazy with the sprinkles. The 2 babies spent their afternoon playing with each other and reading. ;-)

Christmas Lights

This past weekend we went to Rancho Cucamonga to view the lights with the grandparents on what I suppose is a famous street called Thoroughbred St. There were fantastic lights displays, hot chocolate and churros for sale, dancing hula girls, carolers, Santa, and a LONG line of cars. We managed to beat some of the crowd by parking at the other end of the street. We enjoyed the walk and went for dessert afterwards. I am big on Christmas traditions and I hope to have this one for as long as the kids allow me to still drag them to see lights. Cassidy hung out in the carrier the whole evening and at some point during the walk Carson had to be held by daddy also. I am surprised I didn't get suckered to having to give a massage for that one! ;-)
